Mt. Moriah Child Development Center exists to provide a first class, faith based children's education learning & training center to the Historic Crestdale Community in Matthews, NC. Our focus is to provide a innovative quality of learning for our children and community advancement.
Mount Moriah Child Development Center Vision Statement
Once Mt. Moriah Child Development Center's objectives and goals have been achieved the community will see quality education for our students, and more training for their parents. The tangible difference that we provide is more space to accommodate additional students & hands-on staff to assist with parent and children learning.
Board Goals of the Program
Develop a pre-school implementing innovative practices as a means of improving student’s skills, making them ready for school.
Ensure that student’s academic skills are improved by decreasing the gap in student achievement upon entering kindergarten.
Ensure that parents and teachers have a positive perception of the program by their responses to surveys and student performances.
Promote a healthy environment through preventive health care and by providing nutritional food for healthful living.
Kristy Whitley-Spruill is the Director of the Mt. Moriah Child Development Center (MMCDC). She has over 20 years of experience in the Child Development field. Kristy holds an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, is a Level II Administrator, and is a Certified Lead Teacher.
Under her leadership, the MMCDC was nominated for and won the Child Care America USA Provider of the Month for July 2015. The MMCDC was also awarded a 4 Star (out of 5) rating by the North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education in 2016; the MMCDC's first time applying for this rating.
Kristy and her husband, Ronald, have four daughters; with three attending the MMCDC, which makes offering high-level child care, provided by top quality professionals, who are here to meet the learning and developmental needs of all MMCDC children, a personal as well as a professional goal.
